Kuldiga is one of the most romantic towns in Latvia with an ancient history and traditions. The charms of the town are characterized by its narrow streets, historical buildings, wooden houses and beautiful views.
The jewel in the town’s historical scenery is the Ventas Rumba – the widest waterfall in Europe (249 m), while the old brick bridge across the River Venta was built in 1874 is one of the longest brick bridges in Europe.
In the early 1970s, a hotel Kursa was built in the new centre of the town. In December 2006 the hotel became a member of the Kolonna Hotels Group and changed its name to Kolonna Hotel Kuldiga.
